Shared experience

Those of us in the Prime age group have a lot of experience, but to make the most of it, we have to share it.

That’s part of what the Prime Magazine is all about. We share some stories about people whose experiences are interesting, we share a little bit of advice from experts, and we invite you to share some of your experiences with us.

The current issue has a couple different twists on the shared-experience theme.

We have a feature on the Kenosha Running Club, for example. For most people, running is a solitary activity, but the members of this club find they have more fun when they make a social event out of it. They meet at a coffee house every week, run, then go back to the coffee house for food and socializing. Of course, the club is a service organization as well. One of its big events is the annual Mayor’s Turkey Day Run in Kenosha, one of the all-time great community runs. The club is always looking for new members, and you can be pretty sure you won’t be either the youngest or the oldest member. Check out Kris Kochman’s story on page 22.

We also have a feature on hot-dish suppers. Once fall begins, you know there is a potluck in your future, either at your religious congregation, school or just a family gathering. We thought we’d consult the experts about what to bring, and who would know more about potluck dinners than church secretaries. You can find some good recipes in Karen Mahoney’s story on page 19.
There’s lots more in this issue, along with our usual advice about finances, gardening and our always interesting contributions from readers about their travels.

One more thing about sharing experiences: If you enjoy this magazine, please point that out to our advertisers. We couldn’t do this without them. Let them know you appreciate their participation in the magazine.

And we want you to know that we appreciate your feedback of all kinds. See the announcement below for another option for participating in the Prime experience. We want to know about your favorite restaurants, but we love hearing from you for any reason.

Hope you enjoy this issue of Prime.

How was

your trip?

Ever take a vacation that was so good you want to recommend it to others?

Send us a brief description and a couple of photos, and we’ll tell people about it in Prime magazine. By brief, we mean about 300 words, like the ones on these pages, and by describe, we don’t mean a day-by-day itinerary. We want to know what makes it a memorable trip.
E-mail your vacation stories and photos to us here.
